The agricultural sector

Brazzaville is a fertile land for the cultivation of food crop such as cassava, beans, onion, Irish potato, pineapple, corn, a variety of vegetables, fruit trees, potato etc. Used mostly for local consumption, these produce are unable to supply big urban centres and are often used for subsistence. Private investments would highly motivate local producers who often by lack of material and financial means are limited to artisanal production which does not cover the local needs of the population. Increase in production could solve the problem of food self-sufficiency.
