Brazzaville - Kinshasa cooperation
The city of Brazzaville has distinguished itself by forming a variety of agreements with cities around the world through its municipal authorities. Agreements have been formed with cities in Africa, Europe, America, and Asia. Recently, the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo have instituted a twin cities initiative between Brazzaville and Kinshasa, the two closest cities in the world.
The triangular twin cities agreement between Brazzaville, Kinshasa, and Dakar was signed on May 27, 2015. However, in 2011, the city of Brazzaville and that of Dakar signed a plan of action for a framework cooperation agreement between the two cities. The two municipalities are committed to promoting exchanges in several areas, including urban management, youth development, economic and cultural development, and sports.
